Our School Curriculum

Our Curriculum

At Brownsover Community School we want all our children to become lifelong learners. We value individuality and strive to ensure that each child receives an education which supports their emotional security, fosters curiosity, excites and engages them and allows each child to know that they will flourish and thrive as they will be championed by every adult working with them.

At our school, every child follows a curriculum that is rooted in the National Curriculum, designed to inspire, challenge, and support them at every stage of their development. The curriculum is flexible, tailored to the unique needs and interests of each child, and continuously adapted to help them thrive. We aim to foster a lifelong love of learning through engaging, exciting and meaningful experiences which will challenge their thinking and provide them a vast range of opportunities.

By encouraging positive relationships and learning from one another, children at Brownsover will flourish, making the most of every opportunity to reach their full potential.

We empower our students to achieve their very best by:

  • Providing a skills-based creative curriculum with clear progression year on year.
  • Offering a diverse curriculum that reflects the world they live in today and will shape in the future, underpinned by our core values of kindness, respect, perseverance, politeness, honesty, and independence.
  • Supporting children in developing investigative, experimental, and critical thinking skills, encouraging them to explore and apply their knowledge.
  • Inspiring curiosity through rich, thought-provoking questions that challenge their understanding of key concepts and ideas, moving their learning forward.
  • Nurturing confidence and independence, helping students take risks with their learning and embrace new challenges with a positive mindset.

At Brownsover Community School, we believe in nurturing every child's unique potential in a warm, caring, and inspiring environment. Our curriculum is designed to not only support academic success but also foster personal growth, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Our curriculum is dynamic, engaging, and continuously adapted to ensure every student is challenged, motivated, and supported in their learning journey.

As a school we believe that learning is most powerful when it’s a shared experience. With the support of our dedicated teachers, staff, and families, we create a welcoming school community where every child feels valued, inspired, and ready to thrive.
