Mr & Mrs Young come into school every week to help our all of our children to develop their gardening skills. They talk to the children about planting and growing and help each year group to decide the best crops and plants to grow. Mr & Mrs Young are then always on hand to help the children nurture, care for and harvest the plants.
As part of our Food For Life Gold Award, we like to ensure that we grow a wide variety of food. This enables the children to be part of the 'farm to fork' journey, developing an understanding of where our food comes from. This is then used as part of our cooking activities so that we get to taste the delicious food that we have grown!
We like to involve the whole community and each year we hold a 'Community Gardening Day'. Everyone loves to help and they especially love the refreshments!
