Introduction from the FABS Team
FABS (Fundraising Friends at Brownsover School) brings together parents/carers and school staff to organise and host fundraising events throughout the academic year, raising money for additional resources for our school.
This year we have organised several very successful events, including discos for all years, Christmas & Summer Fairs, plus a range of other events designed to create friendships and allow children to be together outside of the school day.
The money raised by FABS subsidises school trips throughout the year. This year children have had wonderful experiences at Warwick Castle and Foxton Locks, with more trips planned for later in the year. The money we raise also contributes to much needed additional classroom resources, school equipment and many smaller items requested on the teachers’ wish lists. Over recent years we have purchased the new flooring in the school hall, a computer for the library and most recently we have raised money for new ICT equipment in school
We are always looking for new and enthusiastic volunteers to join the FABS Team. On the first Thursday of every month we hold an informal coffee morning to discuss and organise forthcoming events. If you would like to join us, please check your newsletters or the board outside the School Office for the next meeting date. If you are unable to spare the time during the working day, there are other ways you can help. Perhaps you are involved with a company that can help us with raffle prizes, or maybe you have a useful skill – are you a great cook or gift wrapper? Could spare half an hour to help with an event? We are always grateful for any help offered.
