Welcome to Africa Class!
Our classroom is set up for the children to access their learning, as independently as possible.
When we are exploring a particular topic or if the children show a keen interest in something, we will add to our provision. Otherwise, the areas of the classroom and resources remain the same for as long as possible throughout the year so that the children feel confident and comfortable to revisit activities to practise skills or try out new ideas.
Please find the photos of our different classroom areas below.
This is our reading corner. We can read our favourite fiction or non-fiction books here to Gerald the Giraffe!
This is our Malleable Area. This is where the children can practise their fine motor skills using playdough, clay and moulding sand.
This is our Junk Modelling Station. Here the children can use their imagination to make different models. We have had some super models so far from unicorns, cars and even a Diplodocus! I cannot wait to see what will be made next!
This is our Construction Room where we get to use the wooden blocks to build all different types of towers! We love experimenting with the different wooden shapes to see if they balance and we love to include the small world figures or animals into our buildings.
This is our painting table. We love to explore using different colours, lines and shapes.
