Autumn 1
Ancient Greeks
During Autumn 1, year 5 learnt all about the ancient Greeks. They studied their daily life, including what education was like in different areas and how democracy was developed.
They also explored how the Olympic games developed. They used images of ancient pottery to determine what sorts of sports were included in the early version of the Olympics.
To finish our topic and give the children an opportunity to showcase their learning they created their own pieces of pottery. Take a look at their fab creations!

Fencing
During Autumn 1, year 5 were lucky enough to be offered a free fencing taster session! All of the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, learnt some new skills and even mastered some of the techniques!
