Dear Parents of children in South America class,

I wanted to say thank you for the messages I have received.

I wanted you all to know I have had the most amazing year so far teaching your wonderful, articulate, bright and joyful children.  It has been a real  privilege to come into work each day and to get to know them. All of the children have demonstrated a fantastic ability to learn and they are always ready for a challenge.   They will  be worried as I am sure you are too, of what the future holds but children are resilient and they will get over this with your love and support.

I want them to be able to continue the fantastic start they have had with their education here at BCI, so I will be uploading some of the work we would be covering this term to the homework area of the web page.  I will also be posting other challenges too.  It is important for the children to have a routine and for you also to have time for yourselves, so I suggest you set up a timetable for the week making sure you include lots of fun times and exercise together. There are lots of websites already saved to the class pages, please use these.  If you are self isolating or social distancing remember to take time to do things you have always wanted to do for yourself.  The children in south America class have a great understanding of the school values and are more than capable of using their super independent skills when you need a break.

Please take care of each other and hopefully we will be together soon.

Kind regards

Mrs Redhead

Good morning South America class and parents,

It’s Friday again! Where did that week go? I always check the weather on Friday to see what it will be like at the weekend. I can see it is going to be very warm and sunny, I think it might be time to start transplanting my vegetables outside.  I am a bit worried in case it gets frosty again so I am only going to start with a few.  Next week your topic learning will be all about plants. I hope you enjoy it.

Have a happy Friday and a lovely weekend in the sun.

Good morning South America class and parents,

I hope you are having a good week so far.  I know it hasn’t been very warm outside this week but I wonder if you have found any more unusual mini-beasts in your garden? I saw a huge beetle in my garden, it was very black, about 2cm long and it looked like it had antlers on it’s head! I am not sure what type of beetle it was. Do you know? Could you use your research skills on the computer to find out For me?

Happy learning.

Good morning South America class and parents,

It was so lovely to catch up with some of you yesterday when I was in school. I am so impressed by all the amazing things you are doing at home.  It is great to see more of your happy faces in the class gallery.  If you haven’t managed to send me any photos yet, it would be lovely if you could. I know your friends would love to see what you have been doing too.

It is also great to receive short videos, however I have had trouble uploading some of mine because they are too large and I know some of you have had the same problem. I have tried cropping them slightly and this worked for some of them but if you can compress them to less than 75mb this might work too.

Looking forward to receiving more super home learning pictures or videos.

Good morning South America class and parents,

I wonder what super learning you will be doing today? Yesterday I received some super photos from Harry, he has his own caterpillars! I am very excited to see what type of butterflies they will turn into.
Do you remember I told you about the cheeky squirrel eating all the bird food...Well now I know why... we have a new baby squirrel in our garden. I have named him Cyril the Squirrel! It looks like I might have to buy extra bird food.
Hope you have a lovely day.

Good Morning South America class and parents,

I hope you all had a good weekend and Bank holiday. Thank you for the VE Day pictures you have sent so far. It was a beautiful day and even though lots of families are separated at the moment, we all found ways to join together to celebrate and remember those no longer with us.

So back to another week of home learning. As I have said before, I am so proud of all that you are doing at home and how much your parents are supporting you with this.  The class gallery is overflowing with all the fantastic images of your super learning, well done!
I am looking forward to seeing what you will do this week.

Mrs Redhead😊
