The Role: Administrative Assistant

15.0 Hours per Week (Tues & Thurs 8.30 – 3pm & alternate Wednesdays 8.30 – 3pm) Term time only (38 weeks)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Finance/Administrative Assistant to join Brownsover Community School.

We need you to play a vital part in the daily running of our amazing school Administrative team. If you have the following skills and experience this may be just the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Able to show a good working knowledge of finance/administration/HR tasks required to work in a busy school office.

  • Focused on offering a friendly and helpful service to our parents, families and partner agencies, and take pride in the quality of administrative services you will provide.
  • Motivated, proactive and an excellent communicator, someone who is able to work effectively with the office team, children, parents/carers, staff and governors. 
  • Able to apply good computer skills e.g. excel, publisher, word, outlook, SIMS, and any other online platforms used within the school office
  • Reliable, punctual and with the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines are essential as is a good level of literacy and numeracy.

 Duties will include: 
• word processing, 
• dealing with incoming and outgoing mail & emails,
• filing, 
• contacting parents/carers with regard to absence, 
• dealing with telephone and reception enquiries, 
• photocopying, 
• general administrative support,

  • organisation & Management of after school club schedule and place allocation,
  • organise & manage school photos.

We are currently looking for midday supervisors who can provide cover when needed.

 

MIDDAY SUPERVISOR  

 

Salary: Band B Scale point 6 - 8 (£1770 - £1869)

Hours: To work 11.50am – 1.05pm daily, (1 ¼ hrs per day) 5 sessions per week – Monday – Friday, term time only Total: 6.25 hrs per week
 

The role:

You will be responsible for supervising pupils during the lunchtime break both in the dining hall and outside or in the classroom during wet play. MDS are expected to support pupils with their lunch, manage the lunch hall, lead and organise activities on the playground. Training and ongoing support will be provided.

 

Key requirements:

- To work as part of a team and under the supervision of the Senior MDSA.
- Inspire trust and confidence in children.
- Encourage high standards of pupils behaviour at all times.
- Observe the boundaries of the role, and respect confidential information.
- Be aware of child protection policies and report any incidents according to school procedures.
